A Day at Battlship Cove

One of the largest Naval attractions in the Northeast is the home of the battleship Massachusetts at Battleship Cove.

Our reunion group will have all day admission to all the attractions at the cove.

Lunch - on your own at Battleship Cove or at one of the Local Restaurants.

The day will culminate with a buffet dinner in the wardroom of the USS Massachusetts.

We are trying to arrange either two bus times (morning and afternoon) to accommodate those that don’t want to spend the whole day at the cove.  We are also exploring a shuttle to the hotel.

Battleship Cove has many attractions including the Battleship Massachusetts, Destroyer Kennedy a WWI Submarine, a Russian missile patrol boat and a PT boat museum all included in the reunion package.

There are other attractions near the cove that can also be visited (at your own cost for admission).
The Marine Museum at Fall River, just southwest of Battleship Cove, under the highway, has a number of fascinating shipping exhibits, including lots of Titanic lore.  Certainly the most popular is the one-ton, 28-foot (8.5-meter)-long scale model of the SS Titanic, created in 1952 for Twentieth-Century-Fox's movie about the Titanic tragedy. Other beautiful ship models and maritime artifacts detail the history of the Fall River Line, which ran luxury steamboats between Fall River and New York City from 1847 to 1937. Yet another exhibit follows the history of steam power at sea. Nautical buffs from around the world, many of them famous collectors, have donated exhibits to the museum.
